Aspen, Colorado
We took the amazing hike through Maroon Bells up to the Conundrum natural Hot Springs. This is such a hidden gem as most people are not willing to do the 8 hour hike in and 6 hour hike out. This is a hike that you cannot do in one day unless you are super fit, therefore you have to hike with all your camp gear. We made the mistake to pack a lot of water, there is no need as there are plenty of natural clean water springs along the hike. A bear canister is a must, you can rent one from one of the stores in Aspen. There is a limited amount of camping spots near the spring, so if you did not get an early start you will have to find a spot elsewhere. The oxygen is so thin and scarce at the top, so no open fires will work and they are not allowed beyond 10 000 feet.
